Bluehost is one of the largest web hosting services on the internet today. They are one of the top trusted hosting providers, and they currently power over two million websites worldwide.
In this post you will learn how to start a blog on your own and Bluehost makes it easy to set up a WordPress blog. Bluehost has everything your blog needs from start-up to success – Domains, websites, online stores, and powerful marketing tools. Building a website or a blog is very easy with bluehost, you don’t need to code or program to build your blog/website. Bluehost has a very reasonable pricing and you can get started with Bluehost for just a few dollars a month.
Now the only thing you need is a step-by-step guide to get your blog online for the world to see. Lets go ahead and get started!
Step 1 – Getting Started
Click on this link to open up Bluehost in a new window and follow along. https://www.bluehost.com/
First thing you need to do is click on the “Get Started” button to get started.
Step 2 – Choose your Plan
On the next screen you see some web hosting plan options to choose – Basic, Plus, Choice Plus, Pro.
Choose a plan of your choice by clicking on the “Select” button.
Step 3 – Set up a Domain
Next, you will be asked to enter the domain name for your website. You can create a new domain or if you already have one, you can use a domain of your own. Click the “Next” button.
Step 4 – Fill out Account Info
Here you will need to add your account information. Your login details and account information will be sent to your email address.
Step 5 – Pick Package and Package Extras
Choose the Web Hosting Package of your choice to complete the process. I would recommend going with the 36-month plan because that’s the best value.
You can choose some additional services for your blog under “Package Extras”. It’s entirely optional to purchase these, and I generally don’t recommend purchasing them right away. You can always add them later on, if you decide that you need them.
Step 6 – Payment Information
Finally, enter your payment information, read and accept the terms, check the box and hit “Submit”.
Once payment is successful, you will see a message from Bluehost saying purchase was successful and a confirmation email will be sent to you. Click on the “Create your Account” button to go ahead with your login process.
Step 7 – Create Account for Bluehost
Now you’ll need to create an account to access your Bluehost account. Enter your Domain Name and your desired password and hit the “Create Account” button.
Your account is now set up. Click “go to login” to log in to your bluehost account.
Step 8 – Login into your Bluehost Account
In this screen, login into your Bluehost Account by entering your credentials and click “Login”.
Step 9 – Login into your WordPress Account
Nowadays, Bluehost has WordPress installed automatically on your account and there is no need to install it separately. Click on the “Log Into WordPress” button to get started.
Step 10 – Choose a WordPress theme for your blog
You can choose any theme for your blog and you can always change it later in your wordpress dashboard under “Appearance > Themes”.
Step 11 – WordPress Dashboard
WordPress dashboard is where you do all your blog work. On the left-hand side of your WordPress admin area you can see a menu bar, where you can:
- Write, edit, view, and manage your posts.
- Upload/manage photos and videos you use in your posts.
- Create and edit pages in your blog/website.
- View, approve and manage all comments from your viewers/followers.
- Install/configure new themes, customize widgets and menus
- Install and manage plugins to help your content on your blog/website
