This Dark Chocolate Pistachio Fudge Toffee Bars recipe is very easy to make and is a perfect holiday treat to give your family and friends. These chocolate heaven toffee bars are sweet and salty with a crunchy pistachio layer on top.
What you’ll need to make Dark Chocolate Pistachio Fudge Toffee Bars
For the Bottom Layer:
- 3/4 cup Butter, softened
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar, packed
- 1 large Egg Yolk
- 3/4 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
For the Middle Fudge Layer:
- 1 package Fudge Brownie mix
- 1/3 cup Water
- 1/3 cup Oil (canola or vegetable)
- 1 large Egg
For the Top Layer:
- 2 cups Dark Chocolate Chips, melted
- 3/4 cup Salted Roasted Pistachios
How to make Dark Chocolate Pistachio Fudge Toffee Bars with step by step photos & instructions
1. For the Bottom Layer – Preheat the oven to 350°. In a large bowl, add softened butter and brown sugar. Mix well until light and fluffy, for about 5 minutes.
2. Now, beat in the egg yolk and vanilla essence.
3. Gradually start adding flour, and keep mixing well.
4. Grease a baking pan and press the flour mixture onto the bottom of the pan. Bake until golden brown, 10-12 minutes.
5. For the Middle Fudge Layer – In a large bowl, combine fudge brownie mix, water, oil and egg until well blended.
6. Take the pan with baked flour mixture out of the oven. Now spread the fudge batter over the hot crust. Bake until center is set, 15-20 minutes.
7. Cool completely in a pan. Cut into bars.
8. For the Top Layer – Melt the chocolate chips and spread over the fudge layer. Sprinkle with chopped pistachios. Let stand until set. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute pistachios with any nuts of your choice.
- You can also add a mix of chopped nuts like walnuts, pecans, macadamia, goji berries or peanuts.
- You can substitute dark chocolate chips with milk chocolate if you like.
