What you’ll need to make Chocolate Covered Strawberry Hearts

  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Chocolate Melts (while and dark)
  • Toothpicks
  • Coconut Oil
  • Toppings – Pistachios, Pecans, Sprinkles

How to make Chocolate Covered Strawberry Hearts with step by step photos & instructions

1. Wash and pat dry the strawberries with paper towels.

2. Slice the strawberries into half from top. At the top cut a small V-shape. Repeat the same with all the strawberry slices.

3. Now insert a toothpick at the bottom of the strawberries.

4. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the chocolate melts for 30 seconds, give a quick stir and heat for 30 minutes more until smooth. Add a teaspoon of oil and mix well.

5. Now dip the strawberries in the melted chocolate and add the toppings of your choice. Set aside for 10 – 15 minutes until the chocolate sets and firms.

Notes

  • You can choose to coat the whole strawberry of just half as per your choice.
  • Adding a teaspoon of oil gives the chocolate shiny and runny texture.
  • If you think the melted chocolate is turning thick, you can reheat it again.
  • Smooth out the chocolate drips by tapping the strawberries as soon as you dip them in the melted chocolate.
