Caramelized Banana Puff Pastry is an absolute upside-down golden beauty. Dark and sticky caramel, sweet bananas and crisp pastry combine to make this divine heavenly french dessert.It is very easy to make, delicious and gorgeous to display. This is one of the favorites for my kid. It can be prepared in just 30 minutes, which includes 10 minutes preparation time and 20 minutes bake time. It needs just four ingredients for this stunning dessert.
What you’ll need to make Caramelized Banana Puff Pastry
- Brown Sugar
- Bananas
- Puff Pastry Sheet
- Butter (Skip adding butter if you want to make this recipe Vegan)
- Cinnamon
- Hazelnuts
How to make Caramelized Banana Puff Pastry with step by step photos & instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Take a small skillet, add the butter and let it melt over medium heat. (Skip adding butter if you want to make this recipe Vegan.
2. Then add the sugar and keep stirring until the sugar has melted.
3. Turn off the heat and bubble the mixture until it turns a golden caramel color. Remove from the heat and add the cinnamon.
4. Take an oven safe pan or a cake pan, Pour in the sugar mixture and arrange the sliced bananas evenly. Sprinkle chopped hazelnuts evenly.
5. Cut the pastry according to the shape of your baking pan leaving it a little bigger to fold in. Gently place the pastry on top of the bananas and tuck the edges down inside the pan.
6. Bake in the oven for 20-30 mins or until the pastry is risen and cooked through.
7. Leave the tart to cool in the tin for 5 mins, then carefully turn the tart out onto a large plate. Wait for 5 minutes before slicing.
8. Serve it with Ice cream of your choice.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 Bananas - sliced
- ¼ Tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 sheet Frozen Puff Pastry - thawed
- 3 tbsp chopped Hazelnuts
- Optional:Vanilla ice cream - for topping

- Step 1
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. In a small skillet, add butter and melt over medium heat.

- Then add sugar to the butter and keep stirring until it melts.
- Step 3
- Turn Off heat and let the sugar butter mixture to bubble and until it turns into golden brown color.
- Step 4
- Now remove from heat and add cinnamon. Give it a stir.
- Step 5
- Take an oven safe pan, transfer the sugar mixture into it, arrange the sliced bananas evenly and sprinkle chopped hazelnuts.
- Step 6
- Cut the pastry a little bigger than the pan size. Gently place the pastry sheet on the bananas and tuck the edges down.
- Step 7
- Bake in the oven for 20-30 mins or until the pastry is risen and cooked through.
Notes
- Skip adding butter if you want to make this recipe Vegan.
- You can substitute bananas with apple or pear.
- You can substitute butter with water.
- I used hazelnuts but feel free to use any nuts of your choice.
- It tastes best when warm and served with cold ice cream.
