One-Ingredient Banana “N”ice cream, also referred to as “nice cream” is a super simple, 100% natural, healthy, creamy ice cream made with just one base ingredient – BANANA. It is so healthy that you can have it as a breakfast because it is raw, no added sugars, no heavy cream, dairy free, fat-free, gluten-free and paleo-friendly.
This recipe is one of the best ways to use the ripe banana lying on your counter top. I’d always like to use the naturally ripened bananas to make this recipe because they are naturally super sweet, flavorful and delicious. This Banana “N”ice Cream is so refreshing and most of all the healthiest dessert for a sweet tooth person. I would love to eat this all day and any day.
This Nice cream is a perfect treat on a summer day and it is very easy to prepare. Usually, using either a blender or a food processor will work. But for the best texture I would suggest using a high speed blender.

How to make One Ingredient Banana “N”ice Cream with step by step photos & instructions
1. Peel and slice the bananas into ½ inch slices. Keep them in a container and place the container in a freezer for at least 4-5 hours or preferably overnight.
2. Add sliced frozen bananas to a food processor fitted with an “S” blade. Blend until completely smooth, fluffy, and blended. Make sure to stop occasionally to stir and scrape the sides.
(In this step you can add any flavors of your choice. See above “Top Banana Ice Cream Flavors” for ideas)
I divided the banana mixture into 3 parts and added 3 different flavors to them – Vanilla, Cardamom and Chocolate.
- Add 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste and combine well.
- Add 1 tablespoon Cardamom powder and a drop of green food color. Combine well.
- Add 2 tablespoons cocoa powder and combine well.
3. Transfer to a container and freeze for 3 hours or overnight, then scoop out with an ice cream scoop.
Notes
- If you don’t have fresh bananas or want to skip the freezing process, then use store bought frozen bananas.
- If the bananas are not sweet enough, add maple syrup or condensed milk for sweetness.
- This Banana “N”ice Cream tastes best when used within the first week, but it can keep up to one month if stored in an airtight container.
